Recently, in China, there was a kitten that was born with two faces, four eyes, two noses, and two mouths.  It’s called a “Janus cat” because it refers to the two-faced Roman god.  The kitten suffered from a condition called diprosopus, which is a rare disorder where a whole face is duplicated or parts of the face is duplicated.  This isn’t the first time that a kitten has been born with diprosopus.  There has been many cases of kittens being born with two faces.  The sad part about it is kittens that are born with this disease usually don’t live too long.  The one born in China only lived for two days.  Diprosopus doesn’t only happen with cats, but can also happen with other species, such as humans and the life expectancy in humans born with this disease is not long as well.  Infants born with diprosopus usually do not live past a few days, as well.
