The Wonderful Invention Of Popsicles!

Back in 1905, Frank Epperson (who was 11 years old at the time) used to make soda pop by filling up his cup with powdered soda, water, and a stirring stick.  One night, he left his soda pop cup outside and it was so cold outside that it caused the soda pop to freeze.  Frank realized that actually discovered a new treat – popsicles!  So in 1923, Frank debuted his popsicle for the first time at a park, but at the time, he named it “Epsicle”.  However, his children later persuaded him to change the name to “Pop’s sicle”.  Two years later, Frank teamed up with a big manufacturing company to help make his popsicle become more popular.  Over 100 years later, the tasty popsicle is still considered one of the most eaten treats during the hot summer weather!
