According to an international team of astronomers, there are at least 2 trillion galaxies in the universe. We happen to live in the Milky Way galaxy. In our galaxy, we are a part of a solar system. A solar system is the collection of 8 planets and their moon (or moons) that orbits a sun. A galaxy is a system of millions or billions of stars being held together by a gravitational pull. Now imagine, we live in ONE solar system and ONE galaxy and we’ve only been able to identify 9 planets. Out of these 9 planets, we only live on one of the planets.
Scientists have not yet been able to create technology that allows humans to travel further than the moon. So, if there are at least 2 trillion galaxies in the universe, how is it that only Earth contains life? What about all of the other solar systems and galaxies out there in the universe? Of course, there is always the theories of “aliens” living out in space or that the other galaxies are in another dimension. There are even theories that our universe is basically a hologram. The hologram theory is definitely not true, but we cannot for certain say that there AREN’T alien life out there or that the other galaxies aren’t a part of some other dimension. What we have been able to identify is that Earth is the only planet that contains any living species. Do you feel that we are alone out here in this huge universe of ours? Or do you think that there are other life beings out there, but we haven’t been able to communicate with them? Let us know your thoughts!
